ELEDIA & HUAWEI Announce 2020 AI Hackathon Award Winners
The ELEDIA Research Center has announced the recipients of the 2020 ELEDIA Artificial Intelligence Summer Hackathon awards, celebrating innovative contributions in the field of artificial intelligence.
The prestigious top prize was awarded to the team composed of Federico Capra, Amer Delilbasic, and Sergio Povoli. Additionally, an Honorable Mention was bestowed upon the team comprising Alessandro Goller, Gianlorenzo Moser, and Riccardo Ricci, recognizing their significant efforts and promising solutions.
Organized by the ELEDIA Research Center in a collaborative effort with HUAWEI Technologies, the hackathon formed a key part of the broader 2020 HUAWEI DIGIX Global AI Challenge. Its primary objective was to engage students, scientists, and problem solvers from across the globe, inviting them to conceptualize and propose cutting-edge ideas. Participants were tasked with addressing complex challenges within the critical domains of advertisement click-through-rate (CTR) prediction and search ranking prediction, areas central to the advancement of digital advertising and information retrieval.
The ELEDIA Research Center extended its sincere appreciation to all participants for their strong commitment and dedication throughout the hackathon’s duration. Furthermore, gratitude was expressed to the distinguished Award Evaluation Committee for their invaluable expertise and contribution to the judging process. The committee comprised Dr. Stefano Verzura, HUAWEI Cooperation Manager, and Dr. Alessio Castelli, HUAWEI Technology Cooperation Strategist, both representing HUAWEI Technologies Italy, alongside Prof. Giacomo Oliveri from ELEDIA@UniTN – DISI, University of Trento.
