Nvidia CFO, Sales Chief Now Billionaires Amid Chipmaker Growth

Nvidia, a leading force in the chipmaking industry, has seen its relentless growth extend beyond its market capitalization to the personal fortunes of its top executives. The company’s recent surge has propelled two more of its senior leaders, Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress and Head of Worldwide Field Operations Jay Puri, into the exclusive ranks of billionaires, bringing the total number of billionaires at Nvidia to half a dozen.

This expansion of Nvidia’s billionaire club underscores the immense wealth generation driven by the company’s pivotal role in the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution. Nvidia’s graphics processing units (GPUs) are foundational to much of the AI software and infrastructure, leading to unprecedented demand and a skyrocketing stock price. The company’s market capitalization surpassed $3 trillion in 2024 and reached $4 trillion in July 2025.

Colette Kress, who joined Nvidia in 2013, has been instrumental in overseeing the company’s financial growth. Her estimated net worth is at least $957 million as of July 28, 2025, primarily from her holdings of Nvidia stock. Kress’s compensation package saw a significant increase to $21.4 million in the prior fiscal year. Before her tenure at Nvidia, Kress held senior financial roles at Cisco Systems and Microsoft.

Jay Puri, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations, is responsible for Nvidia’s global business, including sales, business development, and partner alliances. His estimated net worth is at least $831 million as of July 29, 2025, largely attributed to his Nvidia stock. Puri’s compensation package for the last fiscal year was reported at $21.6 million. He joined Nvidia in 2005 after a 22-year career at Sun Microsystems.

The two executives join a distinguished group of Nvidia billionaires, including CEO Jensen Huang, whose net worth is estimated at $151 billion as of July 2025, making him one of the world’s wealthiest individuals. Other Nvidia board members who have achieved billionaire status due to the company’s soaring stock include Tench Coxe, Mark Stevens, and Harvey Jones. Coxe, a long-standing board member, is estimated to be worth $5.4 billion. Mark Stevens’ fortune is estimated at $9.3 billion, while Harvey Jones holds a $1 billion stake in the company. Another board member, Brooke Seawell, is also nearing billionaire status with a significant Nvidia stake.

Nvidia’s success has not only created immense wealth for its top leadership but has also been attributed by CEO Jensen Huang to a culture of “taking care of people,” with a focus on employee incentives such as discounted share purchase programs. This strategy, coupled with the company’s dominance in the rapidly expanding AI sector, has positioned Nvidia as a unique case in wealth creation within the technology industry.
