KIOXIA Unveils 245.76TB SSD & AI Storage Innovations at FMS 2025
Kioxia, a global leader in memory solutions, recently showcased its latest flash memory and SSD innovations at FMS: The Future of Memory and Storage. The company highlighted how its cutting-edge technologies are designed to build scalable and efficient infrastructure for artificial intelligence (AI) applications across data center and enterprise environments.
A significant highlight was the unveiling of the KIOXIA LC9 Series, touted as the industry’s first NVMe™ SSD with an unprecedented capacity of 245.76 terabytes (TB). This breakthrough aims to address the escalating storage demands of AI workloads. Kioxia also featured its KIOXIA CM9 Series and KIOXIA CD9P Series SSDs, which are built using the company’s BiCS FLASH™ generation 8 3D flash memory, emphasizing their performance, power efficiency, and versatility.
Further demonstrating its technological advancements, Kioxia displayed products featuring its BiCS FLASH™ generation 9 and generation 10 3D flash memory technologies. These next-generation memories offer 1 terabit (Tb) capacity per chip using 3bit/cell (TLC) technology. They integrate advanced interface standards and utilize sophisticated protocols to achieve significant improvements in data input/output speed and reduce power consumption, crucial for high-performance computing and AI.
Kioxia’s presence at FMS 2025 included a keynote presentation and several technical sessions. Katsuki Matsudera, General Manager of the Memory Technical Marketing Managing Department for Kioxia Corporation, and Neville Ichhaporia, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the SSD Business Unit for KIOXIA America, Inc., delivered a keynote titled “Optimize AI Infrastructure Investments with Flash Memory Technology and Storage Solutions.” Additionally, Rory Bolt, Senior Fellow and Principal Architect of the SSD Business Unit for KIOXIA America Inc., participated in an Executive AI Premier Level Panel discussion on “Memory and Storage Scaling for AI Inferencing.”
