Concentric AI Spotlights GenAI Data Security at Black Hat 2025
Concentric AI is set to showcase its latest advancements in enterprise data security for Generative AI (GenAI) use cases at Black Hat USA 2025, taking place on August 6-7. The company will demonstrate newly acquired capabilities designed to identify unauthorized “shadow GenAI” applications and protect sensitive data from being exposed when employees utilize public GenAI tools such as ChatGPT and Perplexity.
These enhanced functionalities are a direct result of Concentric AI’s recent strategic acquisitions of Swift Security and Acante. These integrations have transformed Concentric AI’s Semantic Intelligence™ Platform into what the company describes as the industry’s first truly end-to-end data security governance solution. The platform now unifies Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Generative AI (GenAI) governance, covering structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data across both cloud and on-premises environments.
Karthik Krishnan, Founder and CEO of Concentric AI, emphasized the critical importance of these new protections. “The adoption of GenAI assistants and both public and proprietary GenAI applications is rapidly expanding across all industry sectors,” Krishnan stated. “While GenAI promises significant benefits like increased operational efficiencies, improved decision-making, and reduced costs, establishing robust protections to prevent data leaks and ensure compliance with various regulatory frameworks is paramount. Our recent acquisitions uniquely position Concentric AI to address these pressing data security challenges within the industry.”
The Semantic Intelligence platform’s expanded capabilities extend beyond securing sensitive data within enterprise GenAI deployments, such as Microsoft Copilot. It uniquely monitors and prevents data exfiltration across public GenAI tools and ensures effective data security governance for proprietary GenAI workloads. Key expanded features include detecting “shadow GenAI,” curating data for proprietary GenAI applications, and maintaining proper access governance.
At its core, the Semantic Intelligence platform leverages patented AI technology to understand the context of data, rather than relying on rigid rules, keywords, or data samples. This allows it to accurately identify not only personally identifiable information (PII), payment card information (PCI), and protected health information (PHI), but also intellectual property and critical business documents that often evade detection by other tools. This contextual understanding leads to more precise classifications and more effective access and activity policies, both within the platform and across an organization’s broader security infrastructure. The platform also offers continuous monitoring and automated remediation of risks such as over-permissioning and misclassified data.
Attendees at Black Hat USA 2025 are invited to visit Concentric AI at booth #2464 to receive a demonstration of the Semantic Intelligence platform’s newly integrated features and engage with the company’s AI and data security specialists.
