In a significant boost to India’s burgeoning ed-tech sector, Arivihan, an AI-powered learning platform, has successfully secured $4.17 million (approximately INR 36.54 crore) in a Pre-Series A funding round. The investment was co-led by global technology investor Prosus Ventures and Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm Accel, with additional participation from GSF Investors. This latest funding follows a previous $750,000 raise from Accel’s Atoms seed-stage program, underscoring investor confidence in Arivihan’s innovative approach to education.

Founded in 2024 by IIT Roorkee alumni Ritesh Singh Chandel, Sonu Kumar, and seasoned Math educator Rushabh Kothari, Indore-based Arivihan aims to democratize quality education across India, particularly targeting students in Tier II, Tier III cities, and rural regions. The platform distinguishes itself as India’s first fully automated, AI-powered learning solution, offering personalized coaching for K-11 and K-12 students. For an affordable monthly fee of INR 300, Arivihan provides students with a virtual personal tutor, delivering interactive video lectures, instant doubt-solving, and AI-driven study plans. The system is currently designed to support students preparing for State Board exams, CBSE, and NEET.

Arivihan’s unique selling proposition lies in its use of a custom-trained open-source AI model, fine-tuned with millions of syllabus-specific data points, which allows it to provide highly contextual responses in Hindi and Hinglish. This localized approach addresses a critical gap in the Indian ed-tech landscape, where a significant portion of students, especially from semi-urban and rural areas, come from Hindi-medium backgrounds and lack access to tailored educational content and doubt-solving support in their native languages. Ritesh Singh Chandel, co-founder and CEO of Arivihan, emphasized that direct use of general Large Language Models (LLMs) does not suffice for their students’ specific syllabus, understanding levels, or language needs, highlighting the necessity of their specialized AI.

The newly acquired capital will be strategically deployed to fuel Arivihan’s ambitious expansion plans, including penetration into three additional Indian states—Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh, building on its existing presence in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The funds will also accelerate AI research and development, enhance regional language support, and bolster on-ground marketing and distribution strategies. The company also plans to expand its academic team, onboard experienced NEET faculty, and hire across product, marketing, and engineering functions. Arivihan claims impressive early traction, having sold approximately 15,000 subscriptions in FY25, generating a revenue of around INR 3.25 crore. The platform also boasts of resolving about 700,000 student queries per month with a 97% accuracy rate, and aims to acquire 80,000 to 100,000 new subscribers this year.

Prosus’s investment in Arivihan aligns with its broader strategy of backing transformative technologies and building leading lifestyle e-commerce ecosystems in high-growth markets like India. Despite previous setbacks in the Indian ed-tech space, such as its investment in Byju’s, Prosus remains bullish on the sector, particularly with the advent of artificial intelligence, seeing it as one of the most compelling frontiers for lasting impact. Dhruv Gupta, an investor at Prosus, noted that Arivihan’s “AI-native learning platform, purpose-built for India’s aspirational students, combines deep personalization with scalable impact,” offering a real shot at transforming how millions of students learn and succeed. Accel, a consistent investor in Arivihan, also recognizes the dramatic shift brought by generative AI in the ed-tech landscape, moving away from “cookie-cutter solutions and often unsustainable business models.”

The Indian AI in education market is poised for significant growth, projected to reach US$2,062.6 million by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 36.5% from 2025 to 2030. This surge is driven by the vast student population, the demand for modern skills, and the imperative to integrate AI for personalized learning, efficient assessment, and enhanced accessibility, especially in bridging urban-rural divides and language barriers. Arivihan’s focus on regional languages and affordable, automated coaching positions it well within this rapidly evolving market, poised to contribute significantly to India’s educational transformation.
