Nathan Carmon Named COO of Robots & Pencils to Scale AI Growth
In a strategic move to accelerate its AI-first growth and bolster operational excellence, Robots & Pencils, a global digital innovation firm, announced today the appointment of Nathan Carmon as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Carmon, a seasoned transformation leader with a two-decade history of collaboration with CEO Leonard Pagon, joins the company at a pivotal juncture, tasked with sharpening execution, deepening client value, and amplifying the firm’s momentum in artificial intelligence.
Carmon’s mandate extends beyond mere rapid growth, focusing instead on sustainable and strategic expansion. His responsibilities will encompass nurturing talent, refining delivery systems, and ensuring that every client engagement yields clear, measurable impact. This appointment marks a significant milestone in Robots & Pencils’ evolution, signaling its transition from a mobile technology pioneer to a leading AI-first consultancy.
The professional synergy between Carmon and Pagon spans more than 20 years, during which they have successfully built, scaled, and divested multiple consulting ventures. Their shared history includes growing Brulant from a modest 25-person startup into a 500-person enterprise, and subsequently doubling Rosetta’s scale following its acquisition. More recently, as an Operating Partner at Next Sparc for the past decade, Carmon has specialized in translating strategic visions into tangible results across a diverse portfolio of high-growth companies. He now brings this extensive transformation expertise to Robots & Pencils.
Leonard Pagon, CEO of Robots & Pencils and President of Next Sparc, expressed his confidence in Carmon’s abilities. “Nathan is that rare operator who possesses the unique talent to simplify complexity and render ambitious goals achievable,” Pagon stated. “During our time building Brulant, I consistently relied on Nathan to translate grand visions into daily progress. His ability to align teams, deliver value, and operate with speed and precision was instrumental in our rapid scaling. With Nathan as COO, we are not just prepared for the future; we are fundamentally built for it.”
Carmon’s arrival coincides with a period of intense pressure on businesses globally to adopt AI technologies, modernize outdated systems, and accelerate their digital capabilities. Robots & Pencils is actively addressing this market demand with a challenger mindset, deploying what it describes as “Navy SEAL-style teams” – small, high-impact units that integrate elite engineering with intuitive user experience design. With a global delivery footprint spanning North America, Latin America, and Eastern Europe, and strategic alliances with industry giants like AWS, Salesforce, and Databricks, the firm is uniquely positioned to guide clients in the unfolding age of AI.
Reflecting on his new role, Carmon remarked, “Having helped scale consulting firms from their foundational stages, I recognize the hallmarks of excellence. Robots & Pencils embodies that excellence. The talent here is truly exceptional, the leadership is bold, and the market timing could not be more opportune. This team possesses all the necessary ingredients to achieve even greater success, only on a larger, faster, and smarter scale.”
Pagon further emphasized the strategic advantage of Carmon’s appointment. “With Nathan now leading our internal operations, I am afforded the freedom to dedicate more time to areas where I can generate the most value – directly engaging with clients, exploring strategic opportunities, and shaping the future direction of Robots & Pencils to align with evolving market demands,” he explained. “That is the profound power of having a leader you can implicitly trust.”
Carmon holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, bringing a robust academic background to complement his extensive practical experience.
