Two prominent AmLaw 100 firms, Willkie Farr & Gallagher and Duane Morris, have publicly announced their selection of Harvey as their preferred generative AI platform, marking a significant development in the competitive landscape for legal productivity tools. This move positions Harvey as a key player vying for market dominance against rivals like Legora and others.

Willkie, a top-tier U.S. firm boasting over 1,200 lawyers and annual revenues around $1.8 billion, is integrating Harvey directly into its proprietary AI platform, Wendell Intelligence. This strategic integration is designed to create a cohesive ecosystem, aligning Harvey’s advanced generative capabilities with Willkie’s internal knowledge systems and established workflows. John Elbasan, Willkie’s Chief Information Officer, emphasized the practical necessity of innovation in law, stating that it “must answer the moment.” He highlighted that Harvey’s global deployment ensures the firm’s legal and business professional staff have access to cutting-edge AI capabilities wherever they operate. Furthermore, Elbasan noted that integrating Harvey into Wendell Intelligence is a deliberate step to align this technology with the firm’s thought processes, decision-making, and client service delivery, reflecting a commitment to purposeful innovation. Beyond adoption, Willkie will also serve as an Innovation Partner to Harvey, participating in early beta testing and exploring deeper “agentic integrations” and other interoperability solutions between Harvey and Wendell Intelligence.

Similarly, Duane Morris, a firm with approximately 900 lawyers and revenues around $700 million, has also embraced Harvey. Michael Bruckner, the firm’s Chief Information Officer, underscored Duane Morris’s long-standing reputation for leveraging innovation to enhance client service. He explained that partnering with Harvey reflects the firm’s dedication to equipping its attorneys with the most effective tools available, enabling them to achieve outstanding results efficiently across their global teams and client base.

Winston Weinberg, CEO of Harvey, expressed honor at being chosen by both firms, particularly commending Duane Morris for their comprehensive understanding of their needs, not just technologically but also in terms of support and practical use cases. These high-profile adoptions by two major U.S. law firms underscore a broader trend within the legal sector: a growing recognition of generative AI’s potential to revolutionize efficiency and service delivery. As AI platforms mature and demonstrate tangible benefits, the competition to become the go-to solution for legal professionals is intensifying, with firms increasingly making strategic choices that will shape their operational future.
