Duos Edge AI & FiberLight Expand Partnership for Edge Data Centers
A strategic alliance between Duos Edge AI, a subsidiary of Duos Technologies Group, and FiberLight, a prominent provider of fiber optic networks, is poised to significantly accelerate the rollout of high-speed connectivity and localized computing infrastructure across underserved and high-growth markets throughout the United States. This expanded partnership builds upon their successful collaboration in Texas, marking a pivotal moment in the quest to bring advanced digital capabilities closer to where they are needed most.
Duos Edge AI specializes in modular, energy-efficient edge data centers (EDCs), engineered for rapid deployment and high availability. These compact facilities are designed to operate effectively in diverse environments and meet stringent SOC 2 Type II compliance standards, underscoring their commitment to security and operational integrity. By strategically placing these EDCs closer to end-users, the partnership aims to deliver low-latency computing power, essential for the seamless operation of next-generation applications. FiberLight’s extensive fiber network provides the critical backbone for this endeavor, boasting over 13,000 route miles across Texas alone, including a vital 75-mile regional infrastructure in Corpus Christi. This robust network directly links major economic hubs such as San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, and Houston, ensuring fast and reliable access to the digital infrastructure that will support education, healthcare, enterprise operations, and burgeoning AI-driven applications in both urban and rural communities.
The practical benefits of this collaboration were recently demonstrated in Corpus Christi. When FiberLight needed to swiftly re-establish its primary point-of-presence (POP)—a crucial network hub—to maintain regional connectivity, Duos Edge AI presented the most efficient and cost-effective solution. Working closely with local officials, the property owner, and AEP, the partners deployed a new Duos Edge AI EDC just 30 feet from FiberLight’s existing infrastructure. This expedited permitting and installation process eliminated the need for over 2,000 feet of new construction, resulting in substantial cost savings and minimal service disruption for local customers.
Doug Recker, President and Founder of Duos Edge AI, emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration, stating that FiberLight’s extensive network, combined with their rapidly deployable edge data centers, enables the delivery of scalable, high-performance solutions precisely where they are most needed, and at an unprecedented pace. Similarly, Tyler Coates, Chief Revenue Officer at FiberLight, highlighted that the Corpus Christi project showcased Duos Edge AI’s ability to offer more than just technical capabilities; they provided tangible value by facilitating innovative infrastructure solutions quickly and efficiently.
Looking ahead, Duos Edge AI is on track to contract 15 EDCs by the close of 2025, with active deployments already underway in Texas and further expansion planned for the Midwest and Southeastern U.S. This expanded partnership with FiberLight will facilitate joint planning for optimal site selection, connectivity, and turnkey deployment in markets where digital infrastructure is most critical. Together, the companies are poised to broaden their reach, enhance service delivery, and drive the next wave of innovation and economic development across the nation.
