QuickLogic Appoints Ron Shelton to Board, Chair of Audit Committee
QuickLogic Corporation, a prominent developer specializing in embedded FPGA (eFPGA) intellectual property, ruggedized FPGAs, and Endpoint AI/Machine Learning solutions, has announced the appointment of Ron Shelton to its Board of Directors, effective August 7, 2025. In addition to his board responsibilities, Shelton will assume the pivotal role of Chair for the company’s Audit Committee.
Shelton brings a quarter-century of extensive financial and operational leadership to QuickLogic’s board. His career trajectory spans a diverse range of technology companies, from publicly traded entities to nascent private startups, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of financial stewardship and growth strategies in the semiconductor and AI sectors. Currently, he serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Syntiant Corp., a company at the forefront of developing sensors, processors, and software models that enable artificial intelligence directly at the device level, known as edge AI. His prior experience includes CFO positions at several notable firms, including Navitas Semiconductor, Adesto Technologies, GigOptix, and Cirrus Logic, all of which operate within the broader semiconductor and electronics landscape. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Stanford University.
The strategic addition of Shelton to the board underscores QuickLogic’s ongoing efforts to bolster its financial oversight and expand its market reach. QuickLogic specializes in eFPGA technology, which allows companies to integrate reconfigurable logic directly into their chips, offering flexibility and customization capabilities post-manufacturing. Its Endpoint AI/ML solutions are designed to bring sophisticated artificial intelligence processing directly to devices, reducing reliance on cloud connectivity and enhancing efficiency for specialized applications. The company also supplies ruggedized FPGAs, engineered to withstand extreme conditions often found in aerospace, defense, and other high-reliability environments.
Michael R. Farese, PhD, Chairman of QuickLogic’s Board of Directors, emphasized the value Shelton’s expertise will bring. “Ron’s broad business acumen and deep financial expertise will provide valuable insight as we continue to expand our eFPGA IP licensing and FPGA Storefront business, and deepen our engagement with aerospace, defense, and other high-reliability markets,” Farese stated. Shelton himself expressed enthusiasm for his new role, acknowledging QuickLogic’s market momentum. “I am impressed by QuickLogic’s momentum in eFPGA Hard IP solutions and its long-standing commitment to customer success,” Shelton remarked. “I look forward to contributing to the company’s continued growth and supporting strong financial oversight and governance.”
Shelton’s appointment is expected to strengthen QuickLogic’s strategic financial planning and governance as the company navigates growth opportunities in its core eFPGA and edge AI markets, particularly as demand for specialized, high-reliability semiconductor solutions continues to expand across critical industries.
